
Depot Metals Will Honor Claims
• That are made within 60 days of delivery or release
• For material in its original condition
• The buyer has been issued written authorization
Policy
• If a claim is to be entered for a weight shortage, Depot Metals requires a computerized scale ticket showing the actual weight received, within 7 days of receipt of the material. A credit can not be issued without this.
• In the event of an acknowledge cancelled order, Depot Metals requires a 10% restocking fee plus payment of all freight charges incurred.
• In the event there is a dispute, payment may only be withheld for the item in dispute. Depot Metals expects full payment of all outstanding invoices not directly related to item in dispute. If an invoice contains several items, payment is to only be withheld for the claimed item. This is a accordance with the Uniform Commercial Code, Section 2717.
Secondary Stainless Steel
• All secondary product is sold on the basis of "as is, where is", which is the industry standard. Depot Metals will guarantee only:
• Chemistry
• Temper/Hardness
• Gauge- standard nominal tolerance
• Width- standard tolerance unless otherwise specified
• Surface- free from holes, rust, and severe laminations
Exceptions
• If more than 10% of a coil is processed, no return can be accepted, whatsoever. Again, processing includes: polishing, buffing, slitting, leveling, or shearing.
• Depot Metals must be notified of all claims within 30 days of delivery or release of the secondary item.
• Any approval of a return must be in writing.
• No charges for processing, yield loss, part failure, etc. will be paid by Depot Metals.
• Depot Metals' salespeople will provide you with as much information as possible at the time of sale. We, however, cannot guarantee the product to have defects limited to our information at the time of sale.
Depot Metals Will NOT Honor
• Defective material that has been processed without prior written authorization.
• Processing includes: polishing, buffing, slitting, leveling, or shearing.
• Material that has been processed incorrectly or not according to
specifications by a toll processor.
• Material scrapped without written authorization.
